Updated over 3 weeks ago

To learn what transfer transactions are, read the guide at this link.

Read the following article to learn how to correctly manage your transfers on CryptoBooks, helping you avoid generating inflated or inaccurate capital gains.

How to perform an automatic transfers check

The software automatically executes a transfers check on all transactions imported in the account every 24 hours.

Additionally, users can manually launch the transfer check once every 24 hours by following these simple steps:

  1. click on Transactions from the main menu on the left

  2. click on the More actions button at the top right, then click on Check for transfers

  3. now click on the Proceed now button displayed in the new modal

  4. in case the software detects two transactions of opposite direction (one outgoing and one incoming), having the same currency, same amount, same date and very close timestamp, it pairs them into a transfer.

A notification like the one in the image below will appear

  5. by clicking on the Check them button you will be taken to the page where you can accept them by clicking on Check all, or reject the suggestion and unpair the transaction pairs that are not transfers by clicking on the Unlink button

  6. if clicking Unlink, you can edit the category of the transactions by selecting it from the dropdown menu and confirming your choice by clicking on Save new categories

Potential transfers management

If, at the end of the transfer check, the software detects one or more transactions that could potentially be linked to more than one counterparty transaction, a notification like the one shown in the image below will appear.

by clicking on the Match Transfers button, users can choose the transaction to pair among the suggested ones by clicking on Choose and link.

How to manage transfers manually

In addition to the automatic options seen before, users have the possibility to manage their transfer transactions manually.

The quickest method is available at this link.

Another, slower but still valid method is to manually enter the transaction details and change its category to “Transfer,” then repeat the process for both transactions you want to match.

If CryptoBooks identifies transactions categorized as “Transfer” but cannot locate their matching counterpart, it will prompt the user to resolve the issue.

The banner displayed in such cases is shown in the image below.

By clicking on Fix Transfers, users have the options to change the category of the transaction by clicking on Not a transfer, or click on Fix

by clicking on Fix, users can either Select a transaction to pair (if present in the account the software will suggest it) or click on Create new to add a manual transaction to pair
