The term "SPAM" transactions refers to deposits received in one's own wallet (less commonly in an exchange) of tokens that have no value and are solely used for marketing or advertising purposes.

Often, these tokens have recognizable names such as "CLAIM REWARD TOKEN" or "INVITATION TOKEN. PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE."

CryptoBooks allows its users to label a token and all its transactions as SPAM, so they don't have any accounting impact.

Option 1: Label as SPAM from the Connections List

  1. On the Connections page, open the details of the wallet where you received the SPAM token.

  2. Go to the row of the SPAM token and click on the gray icon on the right side of the table.

  3. Confirm your choice in the dialog box that appears after clicking.

  4. DONE! You have just labeled this token as SPAM, and now you will see it as follows.

Option 2: Label as SPAM from the Missing Conversion Rate List

SPAM transactions, being made with unofficial tokens, will always trigger the "Missing Conversion Rate" notification.

In the list of transactions for which CryptoBooks couldn't identify the exchange rate, click on "Mark as SPAM" and confirm your choice to resolve the error.

Restoring a Token Incorrectly Labeled as SPAM

If you mistakenly labeled a token as SPAM, you can always restore it on your own.

  1. On the Connections page, open the details of the wallet for the SPAM token you want to restore.

  2. Go to the row of the SPAM token and click on the Restore button on the right side of the table.

  3. Done!
