⚠️ Gate.io API Key Expiry

Gate.io API keys automatically expire every 90 days. When this happens, they must be manually renewed to keep the connection active. This is a platform-specific limitation and not a technical error.


How to create API credentials on Gate.io

Follow these simple steps to connect your Gate.io account to our software and import all your transactions into your CryptoBooks profile:

  1. on Gate.io click on your profile icon

  2. select API management from the drop down menu

  3. select APIv4 keys

  4. select create new API key

  5. under permissions, check the boxes

    1. Spot/margin trade

    2. Wallet

    3. Account

  6. select read only for all of them

  7. select Later in IP Permissions

  8. select confirm and create

  9. enter your fund password and complete the two-factor authentication

  10. copy the API key and the API secret and store them in a safe place


How to insert API credentials on CryptoBooks

Follow these steps to easily connect Gate.io to CryptoBooks via API

  1. login into your CryptoBooks account and from the menu, select Connections

  2. click on the Add Connection button in the upper right corner

  3. click on the Gate.io Icon, you can use the Exchange API filter or type "Gate.io" in the Search Bar to find it easily

  4. choose a Name for your connection

  5. if you are a resident in Portugal or Spain, you'll be asked to choose the nationality of the intermediary. To know more, check this guide

  6. enter the API key and the API secret you copied from Gate.io

  7. finally click on the Create Connection button in the upper right corner of the page

  8. the sync between Gate.io and your CryptoBooks account will begin!
